Part I: The Un-copyable Soul
We begin by grounding ourselves in the "Human Advantage." We will explore why your "emotional truth" is more important than a polished sentence and how to protect your unique voice from becoming generic. We’ll practice unearthing the small, vivid sensory details that an algorithm could never imagine. Using creative exercises, we will demonstrate that human speech is rarely about what is actually being said, and that AI struggles with and cannot duplicate convincingly. We will also explore how our memory exists outside AI's training, and writing your memoir using specific senses, like sound or feel, and the emotions you possessed during this event is the tactile memory only humans possess.
Part II: The Creative Co-Pilot
In the second half, we shift gears to look at how writers and instructors can ethically and effectively use AI to support the entire memoir ecosystem. We will discuss practical AI tools to strengthen your work— without compromising voice, ethics, or integrity.
